March of Dimes Walk

Today was the March of Dimes walk.  Although Mom and Dad have walked for many years, the walk was especially important this year and emotional, thinking about our days in the NICU.  We heard several success stories but also saw many "in memory" T-shirts for babies who weren't as fortunate as Jakob.  Since Jakob was a graduate of the NICU, he got a cute hat at the NICUPs tent that came in handy given the sunny, warm morning.

Playdate

On April 17th, Jakob had his first playdate with his NICU buddy, Sophie.  Mom and Tristin took the kids to the park and we took a longer trail than expected so our 3 mile walk turned into an 8 mile walk.  Oh well--the kids got some fresh air during their afternoon naps and the moms enjoyed the beautiful spring day!

Los Colores

This post is for our good friend, Isabel.  She got Jakob a book for Christmas titled, Los Colores.  Jakob gets very excited when we read books together, moving his hands, kicking his feet and laughing.  He loves listening to Los Colores and then eating the soft, squishy pages after we're done.

World of Discovery

It's the world of discovery for Jakob these days.  He loves his Baby Einstein exersaucer, particularly the rollers.   Hopefully he's not going to be a high roller at the casinos. :)

 

Feedings

Jakob is a big boy now with all of his solids.  Mom and Dad were certainly happy when he started helping out by grabbing the spoon and pulling it into his mouth today.  He loves avocado the best but is also now eating pears, sweet potato, banana and rice cereal with apples and cinnamon.  He's started pinching his fingers together so it may be time for some baby-led weaning!  

Easter

Jakob had a great 1st Easter!  On Saturday, we spent the day with Nana, Pa Pa and Great Grandma.  Although he was fussy and wouldn't eat, we managed to get a few pictures with Pa Pa and him in Daddy's old walker.  

Jakob enjoyed his Easter basket from Noni and Lito.  He loves his little Easter bunny that sings to him!  Although he wasn't in a picture-taking mood, Mom and Dad managed to get a couple pics with him after the Easter service.

April Fools' Day

It's April Fools' Day and Mother Nature fooled us into thinking it was summer with 90 degree temperatures.  Our neighbors opened their pool last Tuesday and Jakob had his first dip into the water today.  Although he wasn't a huge fan, hopefully he'll take to the water by this summer.  He wiped out on a late afternoon stroller ride after a long day of playing with Mom and Dad!

Bundle of Laughs

Jakob is a bundle of laughs these days.  He loves playing with all of his toys and especially loves peek-a-boo.  This is one of the first times Jakob actually performed for the video camera.
