August Activities

Jakob had a lot of fun during August and made a lot of progress.  He had his one year check-up on August 8th and weighed 16 lb 9 oz, was 27.25" long and his head measured 45.5 cm.  He's come a long way over the last year but hasn't quite made it on the regular growth chart yet for height and weight.  He's in the 25th percentile for weight and height on the Very Low Birth Weight chart and the 50th percentile for head circumference.  He also has four words in his vocabulary-mama, dada, nana and baba.  

We started off the month on August 3rd with a playdate with our NICU friends, Tristin and Sophie.  We all enjoyed a couple hours at the Butterfly House.

We went to the pool most Fridays and every weekend...

On Sundays, we took bike rides around the neighborhood...

We took wagon rides every day (sometimes multiple times a day)!

Jakob wore shoes for the first time on August 7th.  He was fascinated with what was on his feet!

Jakob started holding Daddy's finger in the car when he is driving.  

Jakob loves music!  He takes after his Lito and "head bangs"!

Jakob started pulling up on August 16th.  He is now climbing everything (including Mom and Dad)!  He's still army crawling but he gets around so fast that way, he may never switch to a full crawl.

Jakob doesn't perform on demand so the attempts to capture his words have been somewhat unsuccessful...
